Today is the fifth anniversary in which Boone County deputy Jacob Pickett was killed in the line

of duty. I went to high school with Jacob. He was a tremendous guy. It just a great dude.

And it was very, very sad for anybody who knew him. Obviously, those of us who grew up with him,

there's a high school football player, good high school football player. And so I did want to

remember that because it really sucks when someone who contributed so much to society and did

so much and was willing to give his life for the people around him and in his community has their

life taken away by some just irrelevant awful piece of sludge. And Eric quote, justice was done

thankfully in that case, but justice is never never really done, right? I mean, even if the person

gets the death penalty or whatever, when somebody as great a person as Jacob has their life taken

away from him, justice is never served, but I wanted to do my part today and just remember him

and just put his name back out there in the public's mind because he was a really good dude.

Yeah. And they say that grief comes in waves and I'm sure his family is dealing with that today,

his friends and family.
