This week actually marks 20 years that my sister Alyssa has been gone.

This anniversary hit me harder than any of the others.

An arrest was made in August of 2020 and it has turned my life completely upside down.

I did my best to celebrate her life, but to be totally honest, I spent most of the day

alone and trying to forget about it.

When the arrest first happened, I was told by my lawyer that honoring her memory and discussing

my own experiences fighting for her would be just fine.
