Hey everybody, what's up? It's another micro show for you today. Something I've been thinking about. I was back in a 2019 notebook last night as I was thinking about this. And then I was working with the podcast team on what to write about.

And this idea, you've probably seen me tweet this a hundred times.

It's one of my most popular tweets.

I keep putting it out there and people keep connecting with it

because it is what I would consider to be a forever truth.

And that is when things get hard, remember why you started.

We get distracted with so many things.

You know, the more I listen to not just this community, but to every community and all of the

different people that are trying to make their way in the world, the more I listen, the more I hear everybody

talking about the stuff around the things that matter, about the gear, about the business

of this, about the widgets or the doodads. But let us not forget the simple love of what you

do or what you want to do, this dream.

Remember when you started walking your path, when you started going toward the thing that made your heart sing.

It wasn't about the gear, the business, the do-dads, the widgets.

It was about the thing.

Now, I completely understand why there's so much rhetoric around this stuff,

specifically in creative industries, right?

There is a lot of gear.

I'm making a podcast.

It has microphones and cameras.

And the same is true for filmmaking or for entrepreneurship or needlepoint or cooking

or anything, right?
