Summary

This week we are joined by musician and comedian Whitmer Thomas for a very fashion-focused episode of HOW DID WE GET WEIRD? We discuss the difficulty of finding cool jeans in rural Alabama, how the film TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY influenced Whitmer's aesthetic and why fingerless gloves were his accessory of choice. We also discuss Jonah's denim journey from JNCOs to Girbaud and the way that Vanessa's creative use of yarn as a form of budget hair extension helped our mom land a job at the Jewish Community Center. 0:33.3	Yes. And I thought this was funny that you should remember what your main kind of like trend was.
0:40.8	Well, I had a lot of style, a lot of phases.

0:43.6	I had a big colored turtleneck phase, I would say around fifth grade.
0:46.9	Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of.

0:48.7	So I don't know.
0:49.6	I was just into, I liked wearing turtlenecks.
0:51.7	I feel like growing up in Cleveland is cold.

0:56.6	I just liked a sophisticated turtleneck.
1:00.3	And I liked yellows, reds, kind of more autumny colors.
1:05.6	And then I would like pairing it with a big, one of our dad's kind of dress shirts over it, like an X, X, XL.

1:12.0	And, you know, you throw some gel in your hair and you're just good to go.
