Summary

Today the Bayer siblings are thrilled to welcome music journalist and editor Daniel Kohn to the podcast! You may have seen Daniel's work in SPIN, OC Weekly or Rolling Stone, but did you know he's kind of a Cleveland Expert? We get into the Cleveland bagel scene, the long island bagel scene, and the LA bagel scene! And we get into the beloved (not by Vanessa) computer game "The Oregon Trail " and Dan teaches us that the way to win is to be the banker! Life imitating art! And Jonah teaches us that his character's name in The Oregon Trail was always Bo Jackson! Jonah being a weirdo! JK! Plus we inform Daniel that growing up in Long Island would have allowed him to audition for the best kids shows- Carmen Sandiego, Sesame Street- must be nice! And in a rousing game of LEGIT MOAN OR UNNECESSARY GROAN we get into bathroom breaks at Blossom Time, leaving flags up for too long (and other ways to "disrespect" a flag) and the etiquette of exciting Marc's stores! 0:47.2	Yeah, so I was thinking about for some reason names and I was thinking about we know in French class we had, I went by John Claude after Jean-Claude Van Dam.

0:50.4	And then at Temple I was Yona.

0:54.1	Can't remember.
0:58.6	I know my Hebrew name is Shoshana, but I think I was like Vanessa.

1:02.6	And then I was normally Jonah, except when I got my haircut.

1:08.5	Because we would go to this place with these old Italian guys, and they called me Giuseppe.
1:09.5	Yeah. And it seemed totally normal to me at the time. I would walk in there, and they'd be like, hey me Giuseppe. Yeah. And it seemed totally normal to me at the time.
1:12.4	I would walk in there and they'd be like, hey, Giuseppe, get a haircut.
1:15.8	And they just called me that.
1:16.8	And I think they knew it wasn't my name, but they just kind of gave me this Italian name.
