As we begin our prayer time today, let's set aside distractions and settle into this moment.

I want you to picture Jesus sitting with his disciples at a dinner table.

The room is dimly lit and the atmosphere is undoubtedly somber.

This is the last supper Jesus will have with his disciples before he goes to the cross.

In this massive moment in human history, Jesus leads his disciples in communion.

In doing so, He invites them to remember Him.

In this same vein, I want us to use this set-aside time to do just that, to remember him.

In Luke chapter 22, verse 19, the scripture says this,

and he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them,

saying, this is my body which is given for you.

Do this in remembrance of me.

Think about that for a moment.

Jesus offered all he had, himself, not just to his disciples, but to each of us who follow him.

Sometimes because life is overwhelming and busy, we forget this reality.

Hence the reminder to remember.

So as we remember, let's take communion together today. Take a small piece of

bread or a cracker and eat it and get a small cup of wine or juice and take a drink. As you do,

close your eyes and simply picture Jesus. His countenance towards you

is one of approval and sincere care. Remember that he went to the cross, sacrificing his

perfect life so that you and I could have the gift of eternal life.

You and I could have the gift of eternal life. With our remaining time, I want you to repeat after me some simple statements of remembrance. Say, Jesus, today I remember your goodness in my life.
