Summary

Today on the podcast we are joined by actor and comedian Tony Hale, who you might recognize as Buster Bluth from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT or Gary Walsh from VEEP. We caught up with Tony while he was on location in Rome to discuss the culture of buffet restaurants (and the anxiety it instilled in Jonah as a kid), Vanessa's four months as a cruise-ship comedian and Tony's experience shooting the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT pilot two decades ago on a boat, we mean, ship. We also discuss Tony's favorite childhood and current chain restaurants, the familiarity and nostalgia of fast food and hanging out at the mall back when Banana Republic had a safari vibe. 1:03.8	today I wanted to ask you about that one time when we, our family went to old country buffet and you got so anxious, you had to leave and go sit in the car. Yeah. And since then, you've done

1:12.7	the spin-off. So, yeah. We'll keep a brief, but basically, yeah, hometown buffet, old country
1:17.0	buffet. Turns out all these places are owned by the same company. Wow. Taho Joe's, something called
1:22.4	Ryan's Fire Mountain and Fur. I don't know. A bunch of these places, there are all these buffets.
1:27.9	COVID was not good to the buffet. But yeah, I remember we were in high school, mom and dad took us.
1:32.8	It was on Wilson Mills Road and kind of the Mayfield Euclid area. And I remember it was like
1:37.7	carpeted, fluorescent lights, in all those plates, the ceramic plate. And I remember trying to go up to get food and there are all these people in front of me.
