Summary

Jimmy and Mark are joined by Nick Laufenberg, Ryan Hey of Magnetospeed and Tony Palzkill of… Well, we can’t say what Tony does… To talk about the best way of going about reloading to find the absolute best ammo for their particular rifles. We got the stuff to physically reload a round of ammunition, but there’s a lot of strategy and testing that actually goes into making sure you’re loading the *right* round. Rarely does anyone toss together a perfect recipe for their exact rifle and application in reloading on the first try. Sure, you can always follow the factory recommended loads to get something that works, but that will almost surely leave room for further improvement. If you’re like us, you know you want to load the most precise, consistent and predictable rounds possible – These guys explain exactly how to get there and make that happen. As always, we want to hear your feedback! Let us know if there are any topics you'd like covered on the Vortex Nation podcast by asking us on any one of our social media platforms and using #VortexNationPodcast.

Welcome to the Vortex Nation podcast brought to you by lovers of hunting, shooting, public lands, the Second Amendment and Good Food. What's up, Vortex Nation?

As you all know, we've discussed with Ryan Muckenhir and we had Trent here as a special guest for this vortex extreme.

0:25.3

We've now discussed everything that we need in order to reload our own ammunition.

Mark, still perhaps wondering why exactly we're not just going

0:35.5

with the boxes of 20 that come conveniently at the store but we're gonna be

0:40.0

doing this mark and the method that we are likely going to be using is kind of that

0:44.4

middle tier we're going to be using a single stage press along with a

0:49.3

tumbler thing of a jig and a thing of a jig that spits out the stuff that that lights on fire.

0:55.0

The makies of the ammo.

0:57.0

Yeah, you know.

0:58.0

The folks across the table from us at this point, if you're watching on YouTube you'll see them here are far more

1:03.7

knowledgeable I think about what we're about to talk about than we are and that's why we've brought

1:07.9

them on here. Again just a lot of folks interested in the topic of reloading and the actual gear itself is an

1:15.5

interesting topic for sure because not everybody knows what do I need what's

1:20.3

excessive that I don't necessarily need what is something that I absolutely need and then the actual topic of going out and shooting reloads is cool because you get to shoot guns and stuff but how about just the idea of finding your node figuring out the testing of what you actually look.

1:34.9

Chances are you're not just gonna go sling some powder in a case, throw some primers in there,

1:40.0

put a bullet in, and it going to be magic, right?

1:42.6

And so that's why these guys are here.

1:45.2

We'll introduce them.

1:46.1

Normally it's alphabetical order,

1:47.3

but this is a lot of letters for me to think about,

1:49.2

and I can't say the alphabet that fast.
