Here's what you need to know today. Finally, some good news on the Axios COVID map. Plus,

is there an economic risk to too much stimulus? But first, today's one big thing,

reliving the capital insurrection.

The second day of Trump's impeachment trial started with a warning from lead house impeachment

manager, Jamie Ruskin. The impeachment managers will try to give warnings before the most

graphic and disturbing violence that took place is shown. The house impeachment managers went on

to walk through footage of the days leading up to in the day of January 6th,

juxtaposing it with Trump's own words. We heard the mobs screaming for Nancy Pelosi.

A new security footage showing examples of how many members of the House and Senate

barely made it to safety that day. Representative Joaquin Castro closed out the day with this.

On January 6th, President Trump left everyone in this Capitol for dead.

Alina Treen has been covering this trial for Axios. Alina, what was the point to your mind

of all of this footage on Wednesday? I think the point of it, Nyla, was to make

a quitting former President Trump as difficult as possible for Republicans as they can,

to see the harrowing videos of rioters going through their desks and their notes,

the ones that they've been sitting at as they're watching this is quite remarkable.

And so I think it just really plays on the emotions of a lot of these members.

They're also playing to an audience across America to show them this actually is as bad as we're

describing. And I think that is a very smart move on behalf of the House managers.

Alina, as you said, you were there on January 6th and you lived through this yourself.

Would you mind sharing what it's been like to relive that day through watching all of this footage?
