Summary

What will be the long-term impact of the Supreme Court's rulings on religious  freedom this term?  Will religious individuals enjoy the same protections that religious institutions do?

John Stonestsreet and Shane Morris give their perspective on the Court's decisions as well as on a letter on the dangers of cancel culture signed by left-of-center luminaries and a Massachusetts city's decision to recognize polyamorous relationships.

Finally, we share a portion of Shane's BreakPoint Podcast interview with Dr. Sam Allberry, author of Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With? And John and Shane answer your questions about systemic racism and social distancing at church.

about the stories of the week from a Christian worldview perspective. And John, we're coming up on the

end here of an absolutely momentous Supreme Court session that has pretty much buried the rest of the news cycle for the last several weeks, at least in the circles you and I run in. And that's primarily because of the... Yeah, well, it's saying something. You know, I mean, who would have guessed that anything could bury covid and it did and we had

the protest which uh quickly turned in at least in some areas into riots and we had the you know

and I don't, you know, and maybe as you do, I think this is going to be a biggie.

And we can hopefully have a chance to talk to that. It'll be a big deal in the post-game analysis,

1:04.3

I think, because it's not, I don't know, you know, I'm not old enough to know whether Roe v. Wade was considered or understood as what a big deal it was

1:11.4

when it was handed down. I don't know if people recognized it for what it was at that time,

1:16.0

but it evolved into that overtime for sure. And I think we'll probably see the same thing

1:20.7

with some of the decisions that have come out of the court in this summer's session here.

1:25.8

Yeah, I think that's right. And I mean, look, certain decisions make other decisions necessary or possible.

1:31.6

And, you know, for example, it's not just Roe.

1:34.1

It's Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

1:35.8

It's, you know, some of the other ones.

1:37.2

It's not just Obergefell.

1:39.4

It was the decision prior to that, which I can't actually remember having to do with federal employees and recognizing same-sex marriage, which had, you know, led to some of the decisions, including

masterpiece cake shop, and then the one we had a couple weeks ago, which has gotten probably
