If you're a fan of superhero movies or you spent any time on Twitter a few years ago,

you're probably familiar with something called the Snyder cut. This was a four-hour

director's cut of the 2017 DC Comics movie Justice League. It came out on HBO Max in the spring of

2021. Yes, a four-hour version of a movie that had already come out and famously flopped when

it was first in theaters. How did that happen? It was something of a joke in Hollywood because Warner

Brothers and its parent company Warner Media had agreed to give Zach Snyder, the filmmaker,

tens of millions of dollars, essentially because the internet told them to.

There was a massive online movement, we were told. Release the Snyder cut.
