We are here to recap the jet season opener. It was not a good one. The Jets lost the San Francisco 49ers last night on Monday night football. The final score was 32 to 19. and even that maybe undersells how dominant the 49ers were because the Jets scored a touchdown

with their backup offense and garbage time late in the fourth quarter.

It was a thorough domination by the San Francisco 49ers.

And the Jets fan base today is understandably upset, understandably frustrated, understandably, kind of freaking out.

You know, I think it's important to keep things in perspective.

So let's try and put what happened last night into a broader context.

And look, I get it.

I'm upset too.

I was hoping the Jets would come out and play a much stronger game.

Look, I'm not going to sugarcoat what happened last night. I'm not going to tell you anything other than the truth, which is that the Jets played a miserable game. They played a miserable game on offense. They played a miserable game on defense. And there are some things to be concerned about coming out of that game. But the season's not over.

This season is not even close to being over.

There's still 16 games left.

This is a week we somewhat jokingly, but not entirely jokingly,

referred to in the NFL as overreaction week.

And it's easy enough to see why people overreact.
