To say that relations between the U.S. and Europe are strained is an understatement. The strain has

been even more pronounced since the Trump administration released its new national security strategy this month. The document skewers the European Union

and warns that European culture is in danger of, quote, civilizational erasure because of policies

that have allowed non-European migrants to settle there. Most European leaders dismissed the critique.

One criticism, though, has struck a chord.

That's the claim that too much regulation is holding back the EU's economy.
