And so the quote I want to bring here is a little bit of a Christmas themed one.

And it's very contemporary in that a book came out this year called Mr. Dickens and his Carol by the novelist Samantha Silva.

And the book is kind of like a dramatization of the trials and travails of Charles Dickens

as he wrote a Christmas Carol in the mid 1800s up against great

pressures from his publisher to turn around a commercial success in time for Christmas in a very

short time period after his latest, which I think was Pickwick,

I can't remember what novel he had just written that kind of flopped commercially. And so there was pressure from the publisher to come up with something and he came up with you know his arguably

boast classic and enduring work under that great duress and so the novelist has some fun with that and kind of reimagining

scenes of him going through what it took to write the book and all the self-doubt and

the crushing pain and how he came to hate that holiday much like Scrooge does.

Yes.

And then that found it.

And then that found inspiration.

So he's talking to a muse of his because this woman that he kind of runs into after his wife picks up and leaves with the kids because he's such a miserable fuck to be around under this creative pressure.

I think we know boss, if there's creative pressure in the air, it's hard to get along with folks.

Yep, you will be miserable.

You will be miserable and you'll accept that misery.

Yep, and your family will suffer.

Boss, that's correct. That is correct. I mean, let's not fuck around here.
