Do you want to know a secret? Can I tell you this? Should I tell you this? Is it a trade set? I think you've probably worked it out for yourself. In fact, I'd probably tell you every year and then promptly forget. But for radio phone-in hosts, August is the cruelest month, not April. August is the cruelest month because so many people are on holiday, including, of course,

the House of Commons, that they're on holiday for a long time,

that the news cycle

such as it is, well, not even that,

the sort of conveyor belt of conversation.

That's my darts name, that is.

The conveyor belt of conversation

dries up a bit and and you have to cast around especially if you are not minded

to do endless conversations about uh low emission zones and parking tickets and

the like.

You have to cast around a little further for your nourishment for your topics.

And today I've happened upon one that we should actually have done sooner. And the reason why I mentioned that it's slightly slim pickings at the

moment in terms of substantive stories is because I'm coming at this very, very, very personally,

neither professionally nor particularly politically, actually. It's almost a tongue-trist of that, isn't it?

And I want you to do the same.

I really do want you to do the same.

So I don't know.

I can never presume that you know a great deal about this program or this presenter,

but I have been over the years a fairly tireless critic of Brexit

for reasons that I don't even think need detailing anymore.
