Maower. Today we're talking about a couple option changes for the model 3 as well

as some news about Tesla and China. Tesla stock on Monday finished up 8.46%

to $285.50, this compared to the NASDAQ up 0.27 percent.

We'll talk about some of the possible reasons behind that price movement in a second.

But first, just two quick model three updates. The first is that Tesla has raised the option

price for the dual motor all wheel three from 5,000 to 6,000. This is the second increase that we've had.

Dual motor pricing has really been all over the place.

Originally it was $5,000, then it was lowered to $4,000.

Now it's seen two subsequent increases back to 5,000 and then now up to 6,000.

Meaning the dual motor all-wheel drive, Model 3 now starts at $55,000, meaning the dual motor all-wheel drive,

but all three now starts at $55,000.

The increase did not do anything to the price of the performance

addition, though, that still starts at $64,000.

We know that the take rate for the dual motor has been higher than what Tesla expected.

They mentioned as much on the previous earnings call.

So I think this price increase is probably a function of a couple things.

They're seeing higher demand than they anticipated for the dual motor and their

production is probably not able to keep pace with that demand yet. We recently

saw the wait time for delivery of the real-wheel drive model three reduced to about four weeks and
