Sometimes it’s hard to remember that in the midst of everything else happening in our country right now that we are in the middle of an election year. While the Presidential race always gets a lot of attention - if you’re interested in reforming policing practices in your communities the best way you can affect change is at the local level.
Mayors and county executives appoint most police chiefs. States' attorneys and district attorneys are the ones who decide to bring charges of misconduct. These are elected positions!
Research who is running in your local community and find out where they stand on police violence and reform.
