Hi, I'm Ravi Agrawal, Foreign Policy's editor-in-chief. This is FP Live.

Welcome to the show. Israel's war on Hamas is now in its fourth week. Israeli forces have left

0:16.9

a wake of destruction in Gaza, with many thousands now killed, and the Strip's 2.3 million

0:23.3

residents now living amid a full-blown humanitarian crisis. It comes after Hamas conducted horrific

0:30.6

attacks in Israel on October 7, killing more than 1,400 people and taking more than 200 hostages.

1:10.0

have taken to the streets to express their anger

1:12.9

at news emerging from Gaza. The public mood is tense. All of that could challenge recent

1:20.0

diplomatic advances. With the Abraham Accords, Israel expanded its diplomatic circle in the region

1:26.1

to include the United Arab Emirates,

1:28.8

Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan. And until right before the attack, there were ongoing discussions

1:34.2

about when Saudi Arabia and Israel would normalize relations. All of that could now be in jeopardy.

I'm taping this on November 2nd. You'll hear a reference to a speech by

1:45.5

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah that may have happened by the time you listen to this.
