Summary

Will Harris is a 4th generation rancher who has adapted his land to a regenerative agriculture system. The switch occurred after Will had an epiphany about the inherent problems of the industrial system of cattle ranching. Today, he uses the wisdom of his great-grandfather, and the cycles of nature to raise some of the best cattle around.  Epic Gardening Shop Homepage: https://growepic.co/3XvriCA Botanical Interests Shop Homepage: https://growepic.co/4dYjYVu Book Collection Page: https://growepic.co/4cRRWts EG Homesteading Book: https://growepic.co/4e4kTUc Connect With Will Harris:Will Harris is a fourth-generation cattleman, who tends the same land that his great-grandfather settled in 1866. Born and raised at White Oak Pastures, Will left home to attend the University of Georgia's School of Agriculture, where he was trained in the industrial farming methods that had taken hold after World War II. Will graduated in 1976 and returned to Bluffton where he and his father continued to raise cattle using pesticides, herbicides, hormones, and antibiotics. They also fed their herd a high-carbohydrate diet of corn and soy. In the mid-1990s Will became disenchanted with the excesses of these industrialized methods. They had created a monoculture for their cattle, and, as Will says, "nature abhors a monoculture." In 1995, Will made the audacious decision to return to the farming methods his great-grandfather had used 130 years before. Winter is just around the corner, which means that I'm outside planting clothes of garlic and broccoli late into the evening as the sunsets, braving the cold elements as winter sets in, which actually brings us today's sponsor, Element.

You might remember that this summer, Elements sponsored us with their zero sugar electrolyte drink mix, which is perfect for gardeners or really anyone who likes outdoor activities.

But guess what? They're back with some delicious winter flavors, the chocolate medley.

Every order of the chocolate medley includes three great flavors.

10 chocolate raspberry, 10 chocolate chai, and 10 chocolate mint. My personal favorite is the chocolate

chai because I like a little bit of spice with my chocolate. But really, the great thing about

element is that the mix provides a meaningful dose of electrolytes free of sugar, artificial colors, and any other dodgy ingredients. It's no wonder the element is used by a wide community of people who need to replenish their electrolytes after a hard day's work, including us gardeners, athletes, and even Navy SEAL. It's really perfect for anyone on a mission to restore health through hydration.

If there's one thing I've learned about the garden, it is that it plays in to the greater ecosystem.
