Summary

0:27.8	Alright, this is a response to a Regeneration article published by Chris Wright entitled Marxism
0:36.9	in the Solidarity Economy. So I will post both that piece and this piece which is in response to it

1:06.5	ado let's get into this article by Allison Escalante. Last week Regeneration Magazine published a
1:15.0	piece by Chris Wright entitled Marxism in the Solidarity Economy. In this piece Wright attempts
1:20.5	to offer a gradualist approach to dual power politics by highlighting a quote-unquote trans-historical
1:26.3	view of revolution within Marx's writing. Wright suggests that the capitalist revolution is an
1:31.9	example of this trans-historical revolution. In his reading the capitalist revolution is
1:37.4	understood as a spatio-temporal process of new revolutionary productive forces emerging within
1:43.6	the feudal economic system and eventually leading to a new system. In this view revolution is not
1:49.8	a process organized or seized upon by a revolutionary party or vanguard but rather an organic
1:55.6	development of productive forces. Wright offers this view as a gradualist alternative to the quote-unquote
2:01.7	status or quote-unquote authoritarian view of revolution developed by Lenin. As such, Wright's
2:08.5	theory of revolution is developed both through a revisionist reading of Marxist theory as well as
2:13.8	a political motivation to avoid previous revolution strategies developed from Leninist theory and
