You remember it, trust and obey.

It's a nice song, but it's somewhat misleading.

If you interpret it to mean, if you trust and obey God, everything's going to turn out alright.

Well, eventually, that's true, but it doesn't happen immediately.

Sometimes we regret not just wrong decisions, but right decisions.

After making a sinful decision, it's natural to feel regret, but sometimes we regret making good decisions.

In some Christian traditions, people are taught to live within strict boundaries.

There's a long list of things you cannot do, and there's another list of things you must do.

That's called legalism, and it makes for a miserable life.

God doesn't want us to live that way, instead he's enlisted us to trust him.

And that means sometimes we step outside the boundaries of convention.

That's called faith.
