Dean, welcome to the program. Thank you so much, Dr. Laura.

I'm calling because I have a 20-year-old daughter.

I have two children, actually, but the one I'm calling about my 20-year-old daughter,

that when we were raising them, we definitely emphasized table manners around the family dinner table,

and it was kind of a joke that I wanted them to be prepared to eat dinner at the White House, you know, and they say we're never going to be there, but, you know, the point

was I wanted them to have good, good knowledge of table manners.

And now that my daughter has gone away to college in another city, and I see her very infrequently

when she's around, like we were around a little bit at Christmas, and I see her very infrequently.

When she's around, like we were around a little bit at Christmas, she has developed this habit of eating absolutely like a pig.

It is just beyond disgusting.

Is this in your house, you mean?

We were actually on a trip in several restaurants.

It was just her and I on a trip during the holidays, and I only had four days with her,

and I kind of hate myself that I was nagging at her so much,

but we were at these restaurants, and it was just, it was the word of painful.

It was disgusting.

What did she do that was, so can you please describe to me the actual behaviors?

Okay, she uses two fingers from her left hand when she's got her fork in her right hand

and she shovels the food on

with the two fingers so her fingers are constantly in the food and then she licks the fingers
