So it's 6.35 in the morning and I'm in my car on my way to our local elementary school to meet with some friends and strangers that will soon be friends, we're going to pray, walk around

the school and pray. Welcome to the prayers of rest podcast. I'm your host, Asherita Choochoo,

and in this episode, I'm bringing you along for school prayer walk as part of our

refresh your prayer life series. If you've been listening to the podcast for a while,

you've noticed from the first few seconds that this is not our typical episode format. It's not even

typical for this mini series of creative prayer ideas. I'm experimenting with a new way to tell prayer stories

that I'd like to do more of in the future.

But for now, I encourage you to take these 20 minutes and stick around

because this episode is going to be so much more than just a school prayer walk.

We're going to pray, walk around the school and pray for students and staff and our board of education and

just our community for the start of the school year. And it's something that

we've done for quite a few years now. We missed last year because of COVID, but I got a text

from a friend about a week ago saying, hey, we're doing this

again. This is the time. This is a place. So not very many people on the road right now,

but I'm on my way. We'll come back to what happened when I arrived at the school building,

but first I want to

introduce you to my friend Jennifer Thomas, who is the woman that God used to really inspire me in my

prayer life, to inspire me to pray for my children. And so we got on a phone call early in the morning.

You'll hear both our voices are groggy.
