into the way back machine to listen to my conversation with Hank Dearden, who I interviewed in

October 22. Hank runs a not-for-profit called Forest Planet, and he's able to do something

that's truly amazing. Would you believe that he plants trees for just 15 cents

apiece? How on earth does he do this? Well, frankly, it's by working with communities where

the dollar simply goes further. He's recently taken on a project in Morocco where they are planting

fig trees and where they're working to restore biodiversity,

shifting from monocroped fields to biodynamic regenerative farms, and incorporating more species.

This reduces their need to till, and ultimately they're incorporating livestock, too.

As he states on his blog page about their work in Morocco, which I think I'll link with show notes,

he says, quote, the right trees planted in the right way at the right time are an economically

viable alternative. Before I share the episode, I also want to remind you that I've decided
