Hello, election casters.

So in the last episode, we took over Sheffield University Student Radio.

So now my paragraph has continued and have taken over at BBC Radio Sheffield for the morning

because we've just done a live show, a live episode of election cast on Radio 4 and now we're

going to bring you the podcast version. Now I'm not on my own in this studio

at Radio Sheffield, I'm joined by a celebrity guest. Would you like to introduce

yourself? I'm David Blunkett. I'm currently professor of politics in practice at the Department of Politics and International

Relations at Jeff University.

And how long were you an MP for?

I was an MP for 28 years and I now languish in God's waiting room, namely the House of Lords.

Oh, should I be calling you your Lordship?

No, no, you certainly shouldn't.

I think if anybody, if I said to anybody in Sheffield called me Lord they'd punch me in the face.

Okay. So please don't do that.

All right. And how many government jobs did you have in those days?

Education and employment working pensions and

of course home secretary at the difficult time of the attack on the World Trade

Center so it was an interesting eight years in cabinet. Do you still keep in touch with Blair and Brown?

I do.

I keep in touch with both of them.
