Let's start in Malachi chapter 3.

Malachi chapter 3. I want to speak to you today about god coming as a refiners fire malachi

the third chapter god says i will send my messenger, which in Hebrew is Malachi, Malachi. I will send my messenger

who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple.

The messenger of the covenant whom you desire will come, says the Lord Almighty.

So notice, this is the one they are seeking. This is the one they desire. He will come suddenly,

says the Lord, but who can endure the day of his coming people are praying for visitation they're crying out

for god to come but who can endure the day of his coming who can stand when he appears for he will

be like a refiners fire or a launderinger's soap he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. He will purify the

Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings

in righteousness and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord as in days

gone by as in former years. And then, as the next verses tell us, he will be able to be able will be acceptable to the Lord as in days gone by as in former years.

And then, as the next verses tell us, he will come and bring judgment on the ungodly.

These verses are quoted with regard to John the Baptist, John the immerser who prepared

the way for the coming of the Lord.

Jesus is the one who came as a refiner's fire.

Why is it that revival can be prayed for for years, but often we don't see it realized?

Why is it people pray for God's visitation, but then when he comes, it's too much.

And the ones that are seeking him now ask him to leave.
