And so I don't spend a lot of time on this podcast trying to convince you that weed is an

incredibly medicinal plant, that the laws against it are racist, oppressive, and counterproductive,

or that the government, the media, and counterproductive, or that the government,

the media, and the medical establishment have actively engaged in a propaganda war against

our favorite plant, because that's all so fucking obvious, and I know you get it.

But even amid all the madness and crisis in the world right now, I do feel the need to point out that the establishment have lately rebooted a cherished franchise.

That's right.

I'm talking about their hot new sequel, Reifer Madness to Electric Bugaloo.

For those who don't know, Reefer Madness is an old-school exploitation film that dates back to 1936.

Over the last 90 years, Reifer Madness has also come to refer more generally to the entire campaign of lies and hysteria that's gone into convincing people to fear the Reifer.

For a while, it truly felt like the tide had turned when it came to cannabis disinformation.

But lately, I've definitely noticed a concerted anti-weed push in the media, one that, forgive the pun, came to a head on Monday of this week when the New York Times published an op-ed with the title, It's Time for America to Admit it has a marijuana
