So, in the past, when the sports-related conversation and controversy spills into the every other life conversation and controversy because

of something a player or a team did or is doing. And it sparks outrage and universal criticism

like yesterday when the Redskins signed Ruben Foster. My immediate thought, almost always in this situation,

in these situations, my default is contrarian. I'm always thinking about the other side

to see if I have legitimate passion or belief that the masses might be wrong.

Look, the Redskins were the only team in the league to put a waiver claim in for former 49ers linebacker Ruben Foster,

a player with three arrests in the last two years, two domestic violence arrests, one where the charges were dropped,

and then with the same woman,

just this past weekend on Saturday night, another domestic incident and arrest.

The other arrest was a marijuana misdemeanor possession arrest.

But this was also the player, if you recall, who had an altercation with a hospital employee

during the 2017 scouting combine, which just happens to be a rather important week for a college prospect.

That behavior, along with other behavior, pretty much scared teams off from Ruben Foster,

who was a projected mid-first-round pick in 2017

and went at the very end of the first round to San Francisco. So my immediate default position
