But first, let's start with some good news.

I told you a few weeks ago how independent journalist,

Gray Zone editor, and friend of the show, Max Blumenthal, was arrested at his home in D.C. in a

SWAT-style raid on completely false assault charges that were put forward by supporters of the

right-wing U.S.-backed coup in Venezuela.

Basically, the U.S. government and the coup supporters were upset with his reporting

because it was revealing the truth.

And they couldn't have that, now could they? No!

So, they had him arrested, because the police are often used as the fist of the fascist state.

Max was held in jail for two days and not allowed to call his lawyer or anyone else.

Anyway, good news. This past week, all of the charges were dropped. All of the false charges.

Now, you might be thinking, that's odd.

Why would the government drop the charges so soon after an arrest?
