Gray, for the most part, was pretty good. But they still had some stupid mistakes and some bad at bats. So, you know, I don't think the Padres played a particularly great game. I'll tell you, the Red Sox looked better, but there were still fielding misplays. Story had an error, and again, the game was on, so I didn't catch everything. Raphaelah had a ball that he lost in the sun, and then kind of loafed after when he had to go get it to, you know, to retrieve it and send it back to the infield. The runner got to third base on the play. So there was still some stupidity in there. |
| 1:44.4 | And look, the one in five, to go one and five, a lot has to go wrong. |
| 1:50.5 | So stuff went wrong today, but they made up for it with the bats. |
| 1:54.0 | And it's a step in the right direction. |
| 1:56.2 | I would hardly say that they're playing good baseball all of a sudden. |
| 1:59.9 | So I'm not ready to all of a sudden |
| 2:01.4 | say this thing's over and everything's fixed, not even by a long shot. But they needed a win. |
| 2:07.1 | Gray was a little bit better. Meyer hit a home run off the lefty. Contreras had another home run. |
| 2:12.3 | So the offense came to life certainly a little bit, at least, which is a better sign. But I don't think all their ills went away in one day. No, I mean, from the bit that I saw, the two runs that the Padres got were the aforementioned misplay in center field by, why did I just blank? Rafael. Raphael. Yeah, because he tried to make a one-hitted catch. I don't think he lost it in the sun. |
