This one, I think the term is cautiously optimistic.

There's reasons to be excited.

You don't have to talk yourself into the idea that they might be good.

I think the Yankees running into their injury problems also gives you that extra hope that, hey, you know, maybe you're looking at more than just a winning record.

Maybe you're looking at the playoffs.
