We were talking before the break about the Red Sox offseason,

and even the all-positive Dan Roach is not finding anything positive about where

this team is right now and the lack of movement and what just the the lack of effort it

feels like that they have put into things so far.

Listen, you got a new GM, first time GM, but this is part of the problem with the hire is you needed somebody who can really hit the ground running. Like to me, you can love them or hate him. Dave Zimbrovsky had a game plan. Yes. Right? And he executed it right out of the shoot. Okay. I want to sign this guy, this guy, this guy. I want to trade for this guy, this guy, this guy. I'm going to give up this guy, this guy. And here we go, a done, and here's our team.

And if I need something along the way and somebody gets hurt, I'm going to find this guy. I'm going to pay this guy. Like, there's ways to do it. And you don't have to do it by outbidding all these teams. You don't have to do it that way.

I'm fine with show me the players that you want and go after them and tell me why you're bringing them here.

I think that's part of the reason, too, that gets Red Sox fans so upset is the lack of communication from the front office, from ownership, telling you this is our plan. If our plan is to grow the young players and it's Kossis and it's Marcelo Meyer, what have you. Fine. They did that years

ago with the Mookie Betts of the world and those players. These are the guys that we're going to build the core with. But you've got to supplement around them. You've got to bring veterans like Ben Charrington in 2013. You still have put a team on the field until those guys are ready. Ben Charington after 2012 looked at the 2013 roster and went out and said, we need Shane Victorino.

We need Mike Napoli.
