The Australia's government is slamming Facebook's decision to block users in the country from

all news content on its platform.

Parliament is expected to pass a new media bill that would require platforms like Google

and Facebook to pay news outlets for displaying and linking to their content.

Facebook launched a preemptive strike against this proposed bill yesterday blocking all news

content.

That included news sites as well as some government accounts, including those that provide updates

on the pandemic and bushfire threats.

Wow.

So Australia is going to charge somehow.

Well, they're saying social media can't use news sites for free.

Can't use them as clickbait journalists work without paying for it.

And then so Facebook said, all right, well, we're not going to deal with you at all.

We're going to shut down all the news, including, you know, a koala attacks, bushfires, which

is no joke in COVID news, which is brutal.

Well, Facebook's a very small young startup company with very little cash on hand.

So I can understand why they wouldn't want to pay what they were asking for.

of where people get their news, Facebook is extraordinarily high.
