I'm Kirsty Melville from the ABC and along with Neil Traviti from the BBC,

we're going to explore the biggest mining boom in my country's history.

Western Australia dug $110 billion worth of minerals out of the ground last year.

Most of that was south of here,

but I'm with some of the very few miners digging in the largely pristine wilderness of the Kimberley region.
