No one likes to be told what to do. The reality is the sin nature in all of us, the rebel

heart that lives in every fallen creature creature has something that says no one is going

to be over me. We want to be the boss. The reality is, in all of life, one of the great issues

is the issue of authority. If you're a parent, you know exactly what I'm talking about,

because sometimes the children want to be in charge. If you're a young person, you're a parent, you know exactly what I'm talking about because sometimes the children want to be in charge.

If you're a young person, you're thinking, oh, I can't wait until I get older and I get to be the boss.

Let me just tell you, being the boss is not all it's cracked up to be.

And sometimes when you get to the place where you're the authority, you start realizing that authority is quite a responsibility.

It's a big deal.

The truth is that authority is in all of life.

It's in every stage of life.

You never outgrow it.

As a matter of fact, the Bible says reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

We get this idea that we're going to grow up

and no one's going to tell us what to do but God has a way of reminding you that there's authority

all through life lines of authority because our God is a God of order now we've walked through

the gospel according to Mark until we've come to the closing
