This week in the Red Chair it's Chris Dixon, general partner and in-drisen Horowitz, probably the most high profile venture firm in Silicon Valley right now.

Dixon himself is a prolific tweeter, blogger and investor, and he's put money into companies like Oculus, Warby Parker, Skype, Pinterest, and Soilent.

He knows a lot about Bitcoin too, virtual reality, and other legitimately interesting things happening in tech.

Any day, you're a fascinating investor compared to many of them.

So let's talk about the landscape right now in investing. Can you give me an overview of where you think we are?

Now you're relatively new venture capitalists, correct?

Yeah, I joined In-drisen Horowitz about two and a half years ago, before that I was an entrepreneur, a tech entrepreneur, and I had done some angel investing, some sort of personal angel investing before New York.

New York, right?

I was based in New York, but I was investing companies all over.

And you'd mentioned some of them, Stripe, Kickstarter, mostly consumer or into companies.

And your company, what happened to your company that you started?
