rejected globalism and embraced patriotism. This definition of patriotism as the opposite of

globalism has defined Mr. Trump's posture

both in his first and second terms, America First, he calls it, protectionist in economics,

isolationist in geopolitics, and sometimes even nationalist in spirit.

For some, patriotism defined in this way evokes a flush of national pride. We love our country,

and we're convinced it's the best. For others, Mr. Trump's conception of patriotism draws deep

concern, making some wonder if perhaps the patriotic ideal is too compromised by nationalism
