We are continuing our series called Words, Life or Death, and this week I'm sharing on receiving the Holy Spirit.

So I want you to turn to two passages of scripture, all right, 1st Corinthians 12 and Matthew 3.

So open your Bibles please to 1st Corinthians 12 and then put a marker at Matthew chapter 3.

Receiving the Holy Spirit, three points.

Here's point number one.

The Holy Spirit baptizes us in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit baptizes us, the word baptizos in the Greek

means to immerse, to put. the word

immerse the word immerse something it's going to get completely wet

so the Holy Spirit baptizes us in Jesus and we're only going to read part of this verse

because it's all we really need. First Corinthians 12 verse 13 says for by one

spirit we were all baptized into one body.

By one spirit, we were all baptized into one body.

So the Holy Spirit baptizes us into, this the body here is the body of Christ or Jesus.

So I'm going to do something that I don't do a lot, but I'm going to write it on the board because I think it will help us to to see this all right so the

Holy Spirit and you'll see you'll see a why as we go along here and how it comes together for us baptizes us in Jesus.
