The

scripture text for tonight's message comes from the book of James

chapter 1

verses 18. Chapter 1, versus 18 through 25.

James, Chapter 1 versus 18 through 25. V.

Of his own will, he brought us forth by the word of truth,

that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Know this, my beloved brothers.

Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak,

slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.

Therefore, put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word,

which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror, for he looks

at himself and goes away, and at once forgets what he looks like, but the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty and perseveres,

being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts he will be blessed in his doing.

Before I pray and ask the Lord's help, I want to do something very important. This is the copy of the Inghumbull New Testament.

And some of our folks went to Cameroon a few weeks ago

to participate in the celebration of the dedication of this New Testament.

And we as a church were given this copy and on the front page is inscribed a message to us from the

missionary who went out from us and participated in the translation of this

New Testament and I want to read his message to us as a church

on all three campuses and so please receive this from Steve Anderson as a word of thanks to the church, October 20, 2007.
