Welcome to the high and low podcast. This is your host, Bravo, Bravo, Ducking, Bravo,

and we are about to do a rundown of season three, episodes one through four of the Valley.

I had a lot of nervous energy yesterday, so I started just burning through Bravo shows.

Why did I have nervous energy?

Because I knew that after kicking it around for a while, thinking about it, pondering on it,

that the Supreme Court was finally going to rule on a key section of the Voting Rights Act.

And they did exactly what I thought they're going to do. To put it in Bravo terms, okay, what they did was essentially go back to

Sutton's track, season one Sutton's Track, okay, where she was like, I don't see color. And very calmly,

everybody had to explain to her why that's not the goal. The goal is not to ignore people's race or background. In fact, it should be considered.

That instead of that being the best thing that somebody thinks that they could say, you're actually

doing harm with that perspective. So what six out of nine Supreme Court justices decided

was that you cannot consider race when you are drawing the lines

on a voting map. And the bad shit crazy thing about that is that the entire reason that Lyndon Johnson

signed the Voting Rights Act into law was because it was so obvious, it was so apparent during the

civil rights era that all these voting maps had been drawn to disenfranchised to keep black

and brown people from voting. So they needed to be considered. They needed to have a law in place

saying they must be included. The Voting Rights Act prevents discrimination against minorities when voting. The entire thing, I'm going to boil it down to you because you try to read it. You're like, this doesn't make any sense. It's just racism. And racism by definition, doesn't make any sense. This shit's going to do a lot of damage. This is why everybody's got to vote because they don't want you to. And I'll go off.

I'll save it about who I blame, why I'm mad, just everything, all of it. I'll do that on the bureaucracy. But for right now, let me yell at some men. Let me yell at some subparmen. Let me get it all out. I have before me. How many pages of notes do I have? Maybe 10. I put this show on in the background while I was

like cleaning up the kitchen, cooking and stuff, and I was writing notes feverishly whenever something

seemed insane to me. So can we just start off with something crazy? Before I even start the recap,

what about Michelle dating Dr. Dre? That is in my head now for every episode that I have
