Summary
The return of Gretchen and Slade coincides with Katie's peace offering lunch in an episode that takes a lengthy jaunt down memory lane. We're forced to remember fights of yore in frustrating detail as Tamra and Gretchen yell across hot water. Gina reveals tea from Tamra that makes Shannon's attempts to help Katie reconnect with the ladies seem like a good deed that hasn't gone unpunished. Emily continues to bump heads with Shane, Heather and Tamra seem as close as ever, and Jen's new alliance with Gretchen is on full display - along with two puffed-sleeved, faded denim outfits.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the high and low podcast. This is your host, Bravo, Bravo, |
| 0:08.5 | and we're going to recap Orange County. I'm so behind in my brologarchy. It should already be out, |
| 0:13.5 | but the fact checking, y'all, it's no joke. Citing your sources, getting all direct quotes, |
| 0:18.4 | it takes a minute. So I figure as long as I'm behind, let's recap |
| 0:21.7 | Orange County. This is season 19, episode two, old faces, new places. We start with Shannon |
| 0:27.9 | flustered on the phone with one of her daughters and she's gone the wrong way on a road. She's |
| 0:31.5 | missed her exit. I'm sure that never happens. Then we have Jen doing mountain climbers in the backyard |
| 0:36.3 | with her dogs, adorable. |
| 0:38.3 | Then in Gina's house, her dog has pooed and peed on her floor when she's about to cook something with her daughter. |
| 1:12.4 | More upbeat music. Ooh, now all the ladies are going to a place. Oh, Shannon finally found the airport, by the way, and picked up her child. Now that all ladies are going to a place where they're to have these machines that like they're these little knobby knobby things, and they rotate and you just, like, go up to it, and it's, like, massaging out your muscles and your fascia. I'm assuming they haven't really explained it yet. You can straddle it. You can lean up next to it. It seems like it's very, you know, do whatever. but Emily is stressing me out because her hair is down and she's leaning down so far that her hair is touching the roly thing. And I'm like, your hair. Oh, Emily was feeling it in other ways. They do a thing where they replace Shane's face with this little like massaging machine. And Emily says, I want this next to my bed. It doesn't leave in and out everywhere and tell me what I did wrong that day. I see no positives when you describe Shane that way. And now they're getting red light therapy and some kind of massage. It looks fantastic. I would go there. I want to go to there. Gina said this is the kind of stuff she thought they would be doing at the Golden Door spa or whatever. So I just went to the Golden Door.com to be like, what did they? Like, what do they offer there that they don't |
| 1:45.2 | offer this little shop? And so Golden Door, it's like massages, skincare, what do they offer? |
| 1:51.2 | Facials, body care. They do have a red light therapy thing there, but other than that, it's just |
| 1:55.2 | like massage, nails, waxing and tinting salon services. What's so interesting about places like this, I just found |
| 2:01.5 | myself on their website for this little like shop, like a little store. They have the country store, |
| 2:07.2 | I think they call it, and they have bees there, and they also have chickens, and they want you to |
| 2:12.1 | know about it. And so they take something that's actually supposed to be, you know, real low maintenance |
| 2:16.4 | and sort of just like real sort of approachable countrywise. And it's all very expensive there. I clicked on their |
| 2:23.7 | artisanal foods and it's $14 for some granola. How much for their wildflower honey? That's going to |
| 2:29.4 | set you about $18, honey. And that's only 12 ounces, okay? You want some marmalade or some strawberry preserves, $16. |
| 2:37.4 | But you know what? I'm glad we went on that little side quest, because I really didn't have time for it last week, and I wanted to go dig around on the golden door.com, and now we've done it. Yay. So as these ladies were under their red lights, they're kind of bitching and moaning about Shannon, how she stood up for Katie, as they put it, because Shannon was like, I'm uncomfortable with everyone when I see a bunch of people all sort of like picking on the same person. And then Gina and Heather spoke up and were like, we're not picking on her. And at this, you know, red light therapy thing that they're doing, it's just Gina, Emily, and Tamara. Just those three are having this discussion. Meanwhile, Shannon is meeting up with Katie and they're going to have their own conversations. Let's listen. Now Shannon, thankfully, finally, somebody's wearing a wide-brimmed hat when they're filming in the sun and she's like, I need to keep his hat on. I just got a laser done. But they should all have hats on and or they should be carrying parasols. You know how I feel about this. Katie is thanking her for sticking up for her. And they talk about how Katie was sort of shutting down. And Shannon says like, yeah, I don't like that. When people do that to someone, I know how that feels. You just sort of say whatever you need to say to make it stop. And Katie says that that kind of position where you're being sort of targeted and |
| 3:42.2 | yelled at, she doesn't like that because she dealt with something similar with her ex-husband. |
| 3:47.5 | She says, if I fought back a lot, it became worse. So now she finds herself appeasing people just so |
