What you know, alibiers. Welcome to another episode of Pretty Lies and Alibis. I'm Gigi. It's Tuesday, January 13th.

We're going to get into the afternoon testimony in the Brendan Banfield trial. After lunch, we had the next witness, Dr. Megan Kessler.

She is the forensic pathologist who did the autopsies on Joe Ryan and Christine Banfield.

For Joe's autopsy, she took all the normal samples you would take, flippings of his hair,

oral swabs, swabbing and samples from private areas,

a blood blot, fingernail clippings, palm swabs, and fibers taken from one of his hands.

As far as his injuries, he had two gunshot wounds, one was to the head, entering the right side,

and one to the chest entering on the

left side. For that head wound, there was no exit wound, and projectile pieces were recovered.

The path of the projectile entered skin on the right side. It injured muscles and soft tissue.

It injured the skull, facial bones, the bones around the right eye, and the left cheek.

It caused fractures at the base of the skull and bleeding on the brain.

With the injuries he sustained, it would have impacted his eyesight in his right eye.

He also aspirated, which is breathing in blood and he also swallowed

blood. His left eye was still intact, so he could potentially still see out of that eye.

He also would have been able to make noise since there was no injury to the throat area. However,

this wound is considered rapidly fatal.

She did find bullet fragments from the left cheek just in front of the left ear and fragments

throughout the wound path. She was not able to determine the distance between Joe and the shooter.

For Christine's autopsy, she only had socks on, she had glasses on top of her

head, a necklace, earrings, and two rings on her left hand. She did all the normal swabbing and
