Summary

Angie is a U.S. Army veteran and trauma-informed coach whose work is shaped by firsthand experience with psychiatric injury and recovery. After serving seven years as a signal specialist, including a deployment to Iraq, she was medically discharged due to severe illness and PTSD and became dangerously overmedicated.

Her withdrawal and recovery journey was documented in the film Medicating Normal, for which she later led a nationwide grassroots outreach effort engaging more than 180 audiences. Today, she supports individuals navigating medication withdrawal and trauma related to overmedication, working with those harmed by the very system they turned to for help, and advocating for meaningful change in mental health care.
