Summary

On this episode of Thick & Thin we’re talking about the unspoken societal pressure to decide your entire life plan at a young age. Why do we expect so much from children, yet stop having faith in someone’s ability to grow once they’ve hit a certain age? The truth of the matter is, you’re never done growing up. Plus, I open up and answer some of your questions about my life. // Follow me on IG: instagram.com/katybellotte // Siri Devlin Art https://instagram.com/siridevlinart?igshid=odytpf7d1qbv Learn more about your ad choices. Hey guys, welcome back to Thicken Thin with me, Katie Baladi. And first, I want to discuss

0:20.8

the obvious, the fresh podcast artwork you're looking at right now. As you listen, I hope

0:26.5

you were able to find the podcast in your feed because it obviously looks a lot different

0:31.7

now. I stuck with the same color palette as before. You'll notice even the very first

0:36.9

batch of Thicken Thin artwork. This is the third rendition now. The first one that I had

0:41.2

way back when I started had, you know, hints of this blush pink color carried that into

0:46.6

the second one that added some red. And now we still have the red and the pink in this

0:51.7

third one. So you'll notice it's very different obviously from the previous two. I'm definitely

0:57.1

one of those people that, you know, for my podcast for Thicken Thin, I just have never seen

1:00.8

it as being something with my face on the cover of it. Not to say other people that do that,

1:06.5

you know, they're any different from me and like, or any less than me or anything like that.

1:11.6

But I just, I don't know, I just didn't see that for Thicken Thin. I just saw it to be something

1:15.5

that's more, you know, focused on things besides me. I don't know how to really articulate it.

1:21.5

But I just never really saw that for the design. So I wanted to do something that was, you know,

1:26.7

still had a human quality to it that wasn't my face. And so I don't know what it was. It was a

1:33.0

mix of me being obsessed with Bridger Thin and just in general, Regency Era. I've always loved

1:39.4

the Regency Era. And you know, the past, you guys know, of course, I love my history. So I wanted

1:45.5

to take that and blend it with something very modern. And as you guys know, dirty martinis are

1:52.7

just symbolic for me. They are just me in a nutshell. A dirty martini is like just the cure to a

2:00.1

bad day for me. I'm just obsessed with them. As you know, they were incorporated into the last artwork

2:05.6

as well. So I thought it'd be cool to mesh my love for the past and the Regency Era. There's,

2:12.6

you know, we are kind of our spin on a Regency Era gown. And then a martini in hand. And it's a
