And joining me today is retired Judge Catherine Mater.

We are so excited to have a judge on this show because we really

cover criminal justice and it's a perspective that we've just been dying to have. So we're so

excited you're here, Catherine. Now before

Catherine was a judge, she was a criminal defense attorney and she worked on one of the most

famous cases in California. she defended the hillside strangler.

She was also the first Inspector General of the LAPD, and for those of you who don't know that's kind of like the civilian oversight

looking into really the the misbehavior and criminality of a police force it's a

very important position and it was a really difficult time at the LAPD at that time.

And also before that she was a prosecutor and she worked in a special unit specifically looking into the the criminality of police

officers and of elected officials you've you've really done it all Catherine I

certainly have I've tried to see it from You've really done it all, Catherine.

I certainly have.

I've tried to see it from every angle.

I've always been very curious.
