But as America's next top model became a TV sensation, the program had to outdo itself

season after season, resulting in segments that put contestants in cringe-worthy scenarios.

All these years later, does the show have something to answer for?

The Netflix documentary series Reality Check, Inside America's Next Top Model, brings together

the stars, producers, and contestants to discuss the show's success and confront its legacy

of problematic segments.

It explores how the show, envisioned as changing the modeling industry, came to reinforce

its darkest qualities.

And it lets Banks and her co-stars address the criticism that their TV show did not age well.
