Here is what I'm hearing about the Broncos heading into the draft.

The Broncos draft board is nearly set.

Hundreds of player evaluations are complete.

And the only thing standing in between the Broncos in the 2026 NFL draft is just a matter of days.

Thanks to the blockbuster trade for Jalen Wattle, Sean Peyton and George Payton will have to wait until the 60-second pick to make their first selection, barring a trade-up, and do not sleep on Peyton and Peyton being aggressive in trading up, especially after not having a first-round pick. After months of intel and talking to numerous sources around the NFL, here's what I'm hearing about the Broncos heading in to the draft. Let's dive in.

The first thing I'm hearing is the Broncos are not done adding running backs.

On paper, the running back, on paper, the Broncos are running it back at the running back position as of now, but that will change. After talking to sources, I fully expect the Broncos to add at least one more running back. They could easily use a day three pick to pair with J.K. Dobbins, R.J. Harvey, J. Leo McLaughlin and Tyler Bade, but it would surprise me if they use their second round, pick on a back. The Broncos have a sizable investment in Dobbins in his two-year $16 million contract, and they're nowhere close to giving up on R.J. Harvey. Not a guarantee that they draft one. They could sign one in free agency after the draft, just like they did with Dobbins last year, signing him in June.

The next thing I'm hearing is the Broncos will draft an inside linebacker, even with Jonah Ellis taking snaps there.

Alex Singleton and Justin Sternad are the Broncos starting inside linebackers.

There's no doubt, but depth is wide open.

Sean Payton announced that Ellis will play some snaps at inside linebacker, but it's my

understanding after talking to sources that these snaps will primarily be on third down.

Thus, the Broncos need more depth at inside linebacker.

Expect the Broncos to draft one, not to start, but to develop.

Denver loves Alex Singleton and believes he'll be a great mentor over the next two years for someone before they take

over for singleton my next takeaway is drew sanders speaking of inside linebackers there's expected to be

another position change in that room according to sources drew sanders is expected to move back to

the outside spot this coming season sanders has bounced around from outside to inside linebacker

and my understanding is he'll be at inside linebacker, and my understanding

is he'll be an outside linebacker this year. The 2023 third round pick played both positions in

college and both positions with the Broncos, but injuries and depth that the positions have bounced
