We're going to be a more serious tip this week.

We're going to try to tackle the crazy political mess that is critical race theory.

I'm going to try to point out some things from both sides of the street

and try to add just a scotch of common sense to this vastly over-politicized issue.

First off, when we talk about slavery, and even I have a more invested interest in it necessarily

as an educator, as a black man, It was something that I was learning about in high school.

In college, I took more classes on it. I also realized the connection to slavery and religion,

so I ended up taking religious classes and I was really interested in finding out

what I thought were truth and what the real was.

Critical race theory as a curriculum has its place in our education system, 100%.

I am of the belief that it is a subject matter for older young adults opposed to small children.

Reason being, if you still believe in Santa Claus in the Easter Bunny learning about the

possibility that you are a white oppressor and the whole world you live in is about

hurting brown and yellow people is pretty depressing for a child

...
