Summary

Ryan Rosett was born in Detroit and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. He enjoyed being outside and the community feel of his neighborhood growing up. He attended the University of Michigan and then earned his J.D. from University of Detroit. He opened a coffee house while he was in his second year of law school. Owning the shop became a job and he decided to sell the coffee house. He then starts a mail order business called the Beer of the Month Club. He learned a lot and found land development. He did really well and then the great recession came and he had to pivot, which he did. His solution was to start a company called Credibly and he and his company now provide capital to businesses with underwriting that is AI enabled and allows them to often approve and fund capital loans the same day. “Ryan Rosett is a Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Credibly. Previously, Ryan was the Founder of IDEA Real Estate Group, a real estate development and distressed debt joint venture with Fortress Investment Group. Prior to IDEA, he co-founded Diversified Property Group, LLC, a real estate finance, home building, and development firm working with companies such as GM, WalMart, Centex, Pulte, and Toll Brothers. He started his career as an Associate/Partner at Real Estate Interest Group, Inc., a regional real estate development firm.”

1:09.2	So tell us where you were born.
1:16.0	So I was born in Detroit, Michigan, and I grew up and I, I grew up and I mean,
1:21.0	I started, when I say Detroit say Detroit you know I would say that that gives me a little
1:26.1	bit of street credibility but like I actually grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, you know, and the the suburbs I was actually born in, you know, Detroit. I lived in
1:38.3	Southfield, Michigan and then I moved to West Bloomfield, Michigan. And that's where I went to, you know, elementary school, middle school, and high school.
1:47.0	Okay. So what was your favorite thing about growing up there?
1:52.0	Um, interesting. I, uh, it was a, you know, I still think it's like a great place to raise a family,
2:00.0	Michigan. It's, you know, I see a lot of people, my friends included that have gone to different parts of the country or world and then they somehow come back to Michigan to raise their family and it's it's not an uncommon you know theme and I'll you know as I kind of go through my life journey I'll explain to you how I came back to Michigan as well but like a memory is just it was a pretty good
