Welcome to this week's episode of Money Tree Investing Podcast. My name is Kirk Chisholm and I will be your host today. So today, we have an interview with Ian Ippolito. How you doing today, Ian?

Great, Kirk. Pleasure to be here. Great. Well, glad to have you on. We brought on Ian because

there's a lot of reasons we brought Ian on, but one of the reasons was he has a pretty interesting

website that analyzes crowdfunding sites. We're going to be talking about investment clubs.

This is going to be a really

interesting episode. So, Ian, maybe you can start by telling the listeners a little bit about your

background and how you kind of came into this. Sure. I actually, in my former life, I actually

used to be a serial entrepreneur, a serial tech entrepreneur. I did that for a while and then had

was fortunate enough to have a very good exit in 2013.

So had that really great exit.

And then all of a sudden, my life changed.

And I realized, oh, you know what?

I have a new job.

And that job is just investing the money in for myself and my family.

You know, it took a little bit of time to kind of figure out what I was going to do

with that. And part of that was, you know, I got a lot of the traditional advice. Oh, well, put X percent

in stocks and X percent in bonds. And while I do have investments in the public stock markets,

I just wasn't happy with that. And I thought, oh, there has to be a better way. At the time, so this was 2013, real estate

crowdfunding had just kind of come out, probably about a year and a half, but all these

platforms were starting to experiment with offering these real estate deals where, and it was
